Everybody told us “just make a Tuner and let’s have a
complete system”. However, compromise has never been a word
in the Densen vocabulary, and, besides, we all remember listening
to the airwaves late at night during our youth and discovering new
music. That made the whole project a challenge, and already early
on in the project we knew we were on to something special. While comparing
the tuner to a well-respected reference tuner, our head honcho’s
girlfriend announced that “there is no difference in tuners”;
but after 5 minutes of listening to the B-800 she said, “I didn’t
know there could be such a big difference....”
The B-800
is hyper sensitive and will tune in to even relatively weak stations.
Judging solely from the frontpanel, the B-800 appears to have very
few features. But on the rear of the B-800 are switches for wide/narrow
and tuning sensitivity, making it possible to use the B-800 as a
hoover of the airwaves…
The audio stages of the B-800 are produced without compromise combining
an advanced Class-A non-feedback audiostage, laser-trimmed resistors,
custom-made capacitors and transformers, which makes the B-800 sound
extremely open, dynamic and detailed, while retaining a sweet and
engaging sound.
